A multiple-choice question allows respondents to select more than one answer option. In the Analysis section, Enquete shows the results in a chart and a summary table so you can see which options were selected most often and how selections are distributed across all choices.

In the example shown, respondents were asked which treatments they received. Because more than one answer can be selected, the total number of selections can be higher than the total number of respondents.

Step 1: Review the response chart

Under the question, you will see the Response Distribution chart. This chart shows how many respondents selected each option.

In this example:

  • Lifestyle changes was selected 6 times

  • Therapy was selected 6 times

  • Medication was selected 4 times

  • Other (please specify) was selected 1 time

This shows that Lifestyle changes and Therapy were the most selected options.

Step 2: Switch between Bar and Pie view

At the top right of the chart, you can switch between Bar and Pie view.

Use Bar view when you want to compare the options more clearly by count and percentage. This is usually the best view for identifying the most and least selected answers.

Use Pie view when you want to see how the selections are divided visually across all answer options.

Both views display the same results. Only the chart style changes.

Step 3: Use the download menu

Below the Bar and Pie buttons, you will see a three-line menu icon. This lets you download the chart in different formats.

You can download the chart as:

  • PNG for an image file

  • CSV for raw result data

  • SVG for a scalable graphic file

This is useful when you want to use the results in reports, presentations, or further analysis.

Step 4: Read the summary table

Below the chart, Enquete displays a table with:

  • Choice

  • Count

  • Percentage

  • Visual

This table gives you the exact number of selections for each answer option and helps you compare them more precisely.

How to interprete multiple choice results

To interpret Multiple Choice results, focus on which options were selected most often and how the selections are spread across the available choices.

Unlike Single Choice questions, respondents can choose several answers here. This means the percentages show how many respondents selected each option, not how the options divide into one single total choice. For that reason, the percentages may add up to more than 100%.

In this example, Lifestyle changes and Therapy each received 60.0%, which means they were selected by most respondents. Medication received 40.0%, while Other was selected less often at 10.0%.

This helps you understand which answers were most common and which were less relevant to respondents.

What to pay attention to

When analysing a Multiple Choice question, pay attention to:

  • which options have the highest percentage

  • whether several options are commonly selected together

  • whether some options are selected only rarely

  • whether the results show broad selection patterns or clear preferences

This helps you identify the most common combinations of respondent experiences, preferences, or behaviours.
