The Single Choice question type allows respondents to select only one answer from a list of predefined options.
This is one of the most commonly used question types because it provides clear, structured, and easy-to-analyze responses.
Use Single Choice when:
You want respondents to pick only one option
You are asking about preferences
You are identifying categories (e.g., age range, department, location)
You are measuring a primary reason or main choice
In the Survey Builder, click on the question type dropdown.
From the list, select Single Choice.
Once selected, the question format will automatically change to the Single Choice layout.
Below the question text, you will see the answer options section.
You can edit each choice directly by typing your preferred option text.
To add a new choice, click Add Choice. A new option field will appear where you can enter additional responses.
To add multiple choices at once, click Add Bulk. A dialog box will open where you can enter multiple options at the same time. After entering your options, click Add. All the options will then appear in your question list.
Once you are satisfied with your options, click Save to apply the changes.
Keep options mutually exclusive to avoid confusion.
Avoid overlapping answer choices.
Keep the number of options reasonable to prevent overwhelming respondents.
Add an “Other” option if necessary.
Single Choice questions are powerful because they produce clean, structured data that is easy to analyze and compare.
