Trainer Suite helps you create training feedback surveys based on the Kirkpatrick training evaluation framework. This framework is commonly used to evaluate the effectiveness of training by looking at different levels of participant experience, learning, behaviour, and training impact.

The Kirkpatrick framework is a training evaluation model that helps trainers measure how effective a training was. Instead of only asking whether participants liked the training, it helps you evaluate different parts of the learning experience.

For example, you may want to know whether participants were satisfied with the trainer, whether they learned something new, whether they can apply the knowledge in their work, or whether the training created a visible improvement in performance.

When creating a training in Enquete, you can choose the feedback framework that best matches what you want to measure. Based on your selected framework and the learning objectives you entered, Enquete can use AI to generate relevant survey questions for your training.

There are four survey types available in Trainer Suite:

  • Reaction
  • Learning
  • Behaviour
  • Reaction + Learning

In Trainer Suite, the Kirkpatrick framework helps Enquete generate better survey questions based on the purpose of your training.

1. Reaction survey

A Reaction survey measures how participants experienced the training. It focuses on satisfaction, relevance, trainer quality, learning environment, and the overall training experience.

This type of survey is useful when you want to understand how participants felt about the session immediately after it ended.

Example questions:

  • How satisfied were you with the training session?
  • How relevant was the training to your role or responsibilities?
  • How would you rate the trainer’s delivery?
  • Was the training content clear and easy to follow?
  • How likely are you to recommend this training to a colleague?

Benefits of a Reaction survey:

  • Helps you measure participant satisfaction.
  • Shows whether the training content was relevant and engaging.
  • Helps identify issues with delivery, pacing, or training materials.
  • Works well for immediate post-training feedback.

2. Learning survey

A Learning survey measures what participants gained from the training. It focuses on knowledge, skills, confidence, and understanding.

This type of survey is useful when you want to know whether participants believe they learned something meaningful during the training.

Example questions:

  • How much did your knowledge improve as a result of this training?
  • How confident are you in applying what you learned?
  • Which part of the training helped you understand the topic better?
  • Do you feel prepared to use the skills covered in this training?
  • What is the most important thing you learned from this session?

Benefits of a Learning survey:

  • Helps you understand whether participants gained knowledge or skills.
  • Measures confidence after the training.
  • Shows whether the learning objectives were achieved.
  • Helps improve the content of future sessions.

3. Behaviour survey

A Behaviour survey measures whether participants can apply what they learned after the training. It focuses on practical use, workplace application, behaviour change, and transfer of learning.

This type of survey is useful when you want to understand whether the training is leading to real action or improvement after the session.

Example questions:

  • How likely are you to apply what you learned in your work?
  • Which part of the training will you use first in your role?
  • What support do you need to apply the learning successfully?
  • Do you expect this training to change the way you perform your tasks?
  • What actions will you take after completing this training?

Benefits of a Behaviour survey:

  • Helps measure whether the training can influence real behaviour.
  • Shows whether participants are ready to apply the learning.
  • Helps identify barriers that may prevent application.
  • Useful for workplace, compliance, leadership, and performance-based training.

4. Reaction + Learning survey

A Reaction + Learning survey combines two important areas: how participants experienced the training and what they learned from it.

This type of survey is useful when you want a balanced post-training survey that measures both satisfaction and learning outcomes.

Example questions:

  • How satisfied were you with the training session?
  • How relevant was the training to your current work?
  • How much did your understanding of the topic improve?
  • How confident are you in applying what you learned?
  • Which part of the training was most useful to your learning?

Benefits of a Reaction + Learning survey:

  • Gives a broader view of the training experience.
  • Measures both participant satisfaction and learning progress.
  • Helps trainers understand whether the session was both useful and effective.
  • Works well as a default survey type for many training sessions.

Choosing the right survey type

The best survey type depends on what you want to measure.

Survey type Best used when you want to measure
Reaction Participant satisfaction, relevance, trainer quality, and overall experience.
Learning Knowledge gained, confidence, skills, and understanding.
Behaviour Application of learning, behaviour change, and transfer to the workplace.
Reaction + Learning A combined view of participant experience and learning outcomes.

How this works in Enquete

When creating a training in Trainer Suite, you first add the basic training information and the learning objectives. These objectives explain what participants should achieve during the training.

After that, you select the feedback framework you want to use. Enquete then uses AI to generate survey questions based on your selected framework and the objectives you entered.

For example, if you select Learning, the generated questions will focus more on knowledge, confidence, and skill development. If you select Behaviour, the questions will focus more on whether participants can apply the training in practice.

This helps you create a survey that is not only general but directly connected to the purpose of your training.

If the generated questions do not match what you need, you can still edit them later. Full question editing is available in the question builder after saving.
