Build a Survey from Scratch

Creating a survey from scratch gives you complete control over every aspect of your survey. You decide the structure, the questions, the question types, and the overall flow. This option is perfect when you want to fully customize your survey based on your own goals and preferences.

With the Survey Builder, you can design your survey exactly the way you want — from the title to the last question.

Step 1: Start Creating Your Survey

After logging into your dashboard, go to the top right corner of the page and click Create Survey.

Select Create Survey from Scratch and click Create. This option allows you to build your survey entirely from the ground up.

You will be taken directly to the Survey Builder.

Step 2: Edit Your Survey Title

Once the Survey Builder opens, you can begin by editing the title of your survey.

Click on the survey title field and enter the name you want for your survey. This is the title your respondents will see.

You can update the title at any time while building your survey.

Step 3: Add Your First Question

To add a question, click the Add Question button.

The Question Editor will open.

Step 4: Choose the Question Type

Click the question type dropdown to choose the type you want. Each question can be set to a specific type, such as multiple choice, text response, rating, or another available format.

The options available for each question will vary depending on the question type you select. For example, a multiple-choice question allows you to add or remove answer options, while a text question may allow you to configure response limits.

You can change the question type at any time while editing.

Click on the question text input field to edit the question. Each edit you make is instantly reflected in the live preview on the right-hand side of the survey builder, helping you build your survey with confidence.

Step 5: Edit and Manage Questions

You can continue building your survey by:

• Adding more questions

• Editing existing question text

• Changing question types

• Adding or removing answer options

• Reordering questions as needed

Once you have finished building your survey, you can click Distribute at the top of the builder to share it with your audience.

Congratulations! You now have a fully customized survey built entirely from scratch.
